How does one gauge a urological surgeon’s experience with DaVinci robotic prostatectomies? Any options other than asking how many he/she has done? How can one find out and how many procedures would you recommend to consider a surgeon an expert in that procedure? Tnx.
The only way to know is to ask the surgeon how many he/she has done. 200-300 cases usually are enough to be expert at the technigue and at least 50 per year maintain that expertise. Dr. Patterson
